Stand Up World Tour Anglet, France, May 8th - 16th
Tensions mount as Stop 2 of the Stand Up World Tour draws near. La Chambre d'Amour in Anglet, South West France, will welcome not only the leading athletes from the Stand Up World Tour, but a staggering 48 trial entrants, all vying to earn their spot in the main event, to take on the world's best. This is the testament of the growth of the relatively young sport, and the surge that it is making the world over: for this first ever European leg of the Stand Up World Tour, competitors from Australia, France, Tahiti, Hawaii, California, Italy, Spain, the UK, the Canary Islands, Portugal and of course, France will be gathering in Anglet for the biggest and most global event to date in the sport's history.
Will young Hawaiian, Kai Lenny, display the phenomenal form he had at Sunset Beach, to dominate here in Europe and maintain his ratings lead, or will the vast pool of local talent in France and indeed Europe show the Hawaiians that they too are a force to be reckoned with? Basque country local Peyo Lizarazu demonstrated that it will certainly not be a walk in the park for the Hawaiians in Europe, following his 4th place finish at Sunset Beach, and assures us that there will be some pretty significant surprises for our visiting athletes.
